Release
Dates The only release date we have at the moment is the release date for the UK and USA and for South Africa: US/UK:
April 11, 2003 The
DVD will contain the following on its special features dics: My review: The Chamber of Secrets DVD is wonderful. It literally has hours of special features, there's so much to do that you forget that the movie's there at all! It has far more deleted scenes than the last DVD and these are easily accessible along with the other features. The only thing I think might be nice is to bring out another extended version of the DVD (with the extra scenes added in) as those inbetween, more detailed scenes just add to make the movie a bit rounder. They could do the same sort of thing as has been done with the Lord of the Rings DVD. Another great feature are the tours (of the Chamber, Dumbledore's Office and Diagon Alley), they must have constructed alot more for the DVD only so that we can navigate portions of the wizarding world ourselves. On the CoS DVD they have included various image galleries here and there from the movie which is a nice extra perk. It's also great to see an interview with JK Rowling and Steve Kloves (the screen writer) which gives us an idea of the process of putting the books to screen and it also helps to assure us that JK is watching and that she will make sure they don't do anything outragious or unfaithful in the movies if it has a big impact in the books. The cast interviews are nice but a bit short and I think they don't really cover the most important new questions fans have been asking, they more cover questions we already know the answer to. The other thing I really like about DVD's in general is the scene selection, so I can view my favourite parts without the hassle of finding the right place in a tape.S Unfortunately the computer with the DVD-rom drive is not connected to the internet and cannot therefore download the software necessary to the running of the special features on the drive. However, I'll hopefully get this sorted out and then I'll review the DVD-rom features here. Fan reviews: Review #1: Gemma Conway, Liverpool (England) 'I
